Danielle Girard, soprano

Danielle Girard, soprano, is her second year of the Master of Music program in voice performance at the University of Ottawa, studying with Allyson McHardy. Her operatic roles and excerpts include Dido and Aeneas (Dido), Cendrillon (Cendrillon), Così fan tutte (Despina), Le nozze di Figaro (Barbarina), Ariadne auf Naxos (Echo), and Book of Faces (Rachel). She has performed as a soloist for Rideau Hall, the Ottawa RCMP, the Strings of St. John’s, the Mont-St-Joseph Convent, Le Choeur Pleinchant d’Ottawa, and is currently the regular soloist at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Ottawa. Danielle has been the recipient of several scholarships from the University of Ottawa and was honoured to be a finalist in the university’s 2021-2022 Concerto Competition. Her next step will be at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, on a generous scholarship. She is passionate about the art of the song recital, particularly featuring repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries.
