Emilie Stewart is a Canadian-American pianist. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, France, Belgium, Italy, and the United States. In Canada, she has performed in a variety of venues, including the National Arts Centre’s Peter A. Herrndorf Place, Dominion Chalmers, Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital, Ottawa City Hall’s Jean Pigott Place and the University of Ottawa. Her formative teachers were Ralph Zitterbart, Professor Emeritus of Carnegie Mellon University, and Sandra Webster, a student of Menahem Pressler. In her late teens, Emilie joined Leopoldo Erice’s studio at the University of Ottawa, achieving summa cum laude in a Baccalaureate of Music. Aside from performing, Emilie has taught piano across Ottawa including at “École élémentaire catholique au Coeur d’Ottawa” and at the University of Ottawa. She has also performed in a variety of ensembles in Canada. At the University of Ottawa, she studied composition with John Armstrong.
